How old do you have to be to wager or cash tickets in Iowa?

To wager or cash mutuel tickets in Iowa, you must be 21. Those under 21 are not allowed within 5 feet of the mutuel betting areas. The Iowa Greyhound Park reserves the right to card anyone under 40 years of age.

Is there an admission charge to attend the races?

No. Admission is free and parking is free. Those under 21 must enter thru the hotel entrance or paddock entrance. Valet parking is also available thru the casino.

Can children attend the races?

Yes. Children are welcome to attend and watch the races. Those under 21 must be accompied by an adult. Those under 21 are not allowed to enter the casino.

Is there a concession stand available?

No. There is soda, water and coffee available in the casino. All food and concession sales are controlled by Q Casino. 

Do you run the races in inclement weather?

Yes. The races will go on if it is raining. Please note, during severe weather, the races may be held up until the weather passes. It is rare that the races will be cancelled.

Are alcohlic beverages allowed?

Yes. Iowa State Liquor Control requlations allow sale of alcohol beverages to only those of 21 or older. All alcohol sales are controlled by Q Casino.

Do you cash personal checks? How about an ATM machine?

No. Personal checks may be cashed at any Q Casino cage in the casino. Certain restrictions may apply. ATM machines are available thru out the casino as well.

How do I pay for my mutuel tickets?

All mutuel ticket sales are cash, winning tickets or credit vouchers only. We do not accept credit cards or personal checks. 

Is there a first aid booth?

A First Responder is in attendance at all times. If assistance is needed, please contact a mutuel supervisor, mutuel teller or Police Officer on duty.

Do you have a lost and found?

The Iowa Greyhound Park cannot accept responsibility for items lost on track or inside Q Casino. Items turned in will be held for 30 days and can be claimed at the Security Podium of Q Casino.

Do you have programs and tipsheets?

Programs and tipsheets are available at the program counter for any of the tracks that are simulcasted that day. All programs and tipsheets are $1.00 each.

Is the greyhound track handicap accessible? Service dogs welcomed?

Yes. The track is handicap accessible. You will have to enter thru the hotel entrance and use the ramp between the hotel and casino or enter thru the main casino and use the ramp at the front entrance.

Yes, service dogs are welcomed to attend the races and are allowed as well within the casino. We do ask that the service dogs not be outside during the races for the safety of the greyhound athletes.

Can I reserve a table or small tv and table?

The Iowa Greyhound Park does not reserve tables, all tables are first come, first serve and will fill up fast on big race days. We suggest you come a little earlier and place your belongings at a table you wish to sit at.

Can I take pictures of the greyhounds racing?

You are allowed to take pictures or videos of the greyhound races. However, NO flash photography is permitted during the races. The Iowa Greyhound Park reserves the right to ask patrons not to take photos if we feel it is interfering with the races.
